| Help with an Arco? lamp | 1 Relevance | 15 years ago | elysian | General discussion | |
| I found this lamp (missing the shade), it looks like an original Arco......except the reflector is not like any other I have seen. Can anyone tell me if they have seen one like this? The diameter of the reflector is too large to fit in a standard shade. I'm wondering if there was another type of shade/reflector made. The person who gave it to me said it was purchased in the 60's. She had it in her garage for years, & doesn't know where the shade is or what it looked like. http://www.collectorsweekly.com/stories/30005-arco-lamp | |||||

| Florence Knoll or Knock Off?! | 1 Relevance | 15 years ago | MadHaus | General discussion | |
| So this is really strange, I found what look like a Florence knoll table with the chrome base and oval top, the one that retails anywhere from 5k-8k $ and a person posted it as a John Boos Pedestal table with the dimensions: 42" diameter, 31" height. I didnt think that anyone had reproduced this table at all, and it has the same look as the Knoll one and also has a 2inch wood top like knoll. do you think this is a knock off? or is it real and the person is mistaken? they are asking 800 dollars for it and I would gladly pay that considering that the real thin ... | |||||

| Assitance needed with an alleged Knoll Saarinen Tulip table...underside cross hatched membrane? | 1 Relevance | 10 years ago | Capnemo | Identification | |
| I was inspecting a Tulip table reported to be a genuine Saarinen sold by Knoll. The bevel, diameter, and height are all as should be. There are no labels or stickers or plaques on the underside however the seller said Knoll was molded in the underside of the pedestal base. I peeked at the underside to see if there were any BR50 or BR51 stamps (none) but the shop was cramped and a little dim so did not see the Knoll name in the aluminum casting however I did see the center nut for the rod. I now believe the BR codes refer to vintage pieces. As the sh ... | |||||

| Alvar Aalto Stool 60 - the puzzle continues... | 1 Relevance | 11 years ago | Zephyr | Identification | |
| I was able to pick up these 3 stools last week, and they have presented somewhat of a puzzle for me. After doing some digging, it appears that this puzzle is not a new one: http://www.designaddict.com/forum/General-discussion/AaltoWoodworking-Question ... so I thought I would bring it back up to the surface to see if anyone has been able to unearth any new information. The stools are in great shape, except 2 are showing delam of the birch veneer on the bottom. Not a big deal, as it would be reletively easy for me to fix, and at the price I paid for them, ... | |||||
| What to do with this solid Teak table? | 1 Relevance | 11 years ago | mgee76 | General discussion | |
| ... 55" in diameter, I think. Inch thick, maybe a hair or two less. Has been refinished with poly. I mostly picked it up thinking I could do something else with it. Like rip it up and resaw it into thick veneer, or I don't know. Guy I got it from, who refinishing/repaired it, said he thought it was butt joints, and it does look like that. Said he couldn't remember if he used biscuits to repair it. Odd. Anyway, it was $160. That seemed worth a shot. Should I have second thoughts about treating it as lumber/project parts? Forgive me if this is a terrible question ... | |||||

| Need your help please - Stainless steel floor lamp | 1 Relevance | 11 years ago | lucida | Identification | |
| Hi all, may I ask you to help me to identify this gorgeous floor lamp? I've found some similar looking lamps from Raak or Hala... unfortunately their bases are not made of solid metal with sharp edges - but of rounded chrome or aluminum. I've searched for several German/Swiss manufacturers such as Doria, Staff, Temde (just to name a few) with no success. The diameter of the glass shade is approx 40 cm, the total height of the lamp is approx 100 cm Do you have any suggestions for me? Would be really great! Thank you so much in advance. | |||||
| Danish table lamp | 1 Relevance | 15 years ago | diors | General discussion | |
| I just bought this lamp, and curious if anyone has anything that might lead me to its designer. It's 15 inches high and diameter is 7 inches. The only marks are some feint numbers in pencil on the shade itself. The cord is wired for US, and appears to be original. I thumbed thru my Scandinavian design catalogues, but don't see anything like it. Thank you forum posters! | |||||
| Danish Furniture Logo | 1 Relevance | 15 years ago | terryt | General discussion | |
| I was given two Danish pieces recently by a great relative. Under each they both have a silver 1" diameter convex medallion with either two black and red colored "E's " or "F's" on top of each mirroring each other and a signature that I cannot read ---CH Haute? Both pieces are numbered with approximately 7 numbers. Does anyone have a clue? I have looked on Decopedia and can not find anything that comes close to this? I am not sure if this is some type of certification or if it identifies the maker. Any info would be appreciated. thanks | |||||
