| JJ We have come up empty handed. Naturally, you may just have to experiment a bit. We have that dial a brew as well, however, it still has not been used. We bought it as a replacement for the "just in case." Perhaps I will give it a try next week. Best of luck, Lenox | |||||
| Norelco Manual | 1 Relevance | 16 years ago | J.J. | General discussion | |
| Norelco Manual Hey all, Still trying to track down a manual for a Norelco 12/Dial-A-Brew. Called Norelco and was bounced around only to hear back yesterday there's nothing they can do. Searched Coffee Geek forums and still hitting a dead end. No one on Craigslist or Ebay are selling one currently. Anyone have one out there, they'd be willing to scan and email to me? Thanks! | |||||

| Interesting? Very. Mysterious? Not so much. Thanks for bringing this one up. It's not as though nobody's ever seen shapes like these before--think geodesic domes, or those wooden blocks from drawing and geometry classes, for instance. Or diagrams in an antique astronomy book. So, given the apparent integrity of both manufacturers, it looks more like coincidence than anything else. With enough designers (which we have), immersed in the vast (but not infinite) stew of shapes and artifacts and ideas our culture affords, convergences like this are inevitable. Co ... | |||||

| Yessir I am certainly less well qualified than yourself to properly discuss these matters, and I had forgotten the distinction between parabola and ellipse, which I believe you accurately define. Yet wouldn't the connection of either curve to a straight line -- a tangential connection, at the point of maximum radius in both cases -- result in a gradual transition from straight line to maximum curve? Perhaps I mistook your point. I have been intrigued and mystefied by some neat animated diagrams (produced by a Stanford University mathematics professor, and s ... | |||||
| Andreas Tuck AT 32 table and PP Møbler sticker | 1 Relevance | 6 years ago | lexi | General discussion | |
| Hi all ; Someone on another forum has posted a pic of what looks to be an AT 32 table. However they say it has a PP møbler sticker, gold with black lettering, underneath. So my question is; when did PP møbler start using this label? I have found a post by Mats Linder , an Andreas Tuck catalogue from 1959, it would appear that this model was listed as "obsolete" on a 1961 pricelist he included. @cdsilva posted a list in Feb 2016 and to quote him "Wegner model number list, ordered chronologically (from the Jens Bernsen book). Unfortunately there are no diag ... | |||||

| Norelco Yes the face shaving company. I bought it just for that reason and also because it was inexpensive. I found a second model called dial a brew that is in the attic space as a back up. Nearly two years and it is still brewing strong. | |||||
| These weird clocks | 1 Relevance | 17 years ago | barrympls | General discussion | |
| These weird clocks were produced in 1984 and were the final group of clocks designed by George Nelson Associates. 622-410 Olympus (that's the pyramid base with the red half circle on top) 622-411 Meter (that's the pyramid base with the stem mounted twin square dial) 622-412 Metro (that's your clock; pyramid base with bent metal rod and dial on white square mounted on red circle) I don't know how they were priced, but I read that Nelson didn't think much of these clocks and they probably were not produced for very long. Hope this helps. | |||||

| Here are some new images of... Here are some new images of my little Braun SK25. We have spent literally hours of hard graft restoring this inside (complete overhaul done by a great local radio repairer) and outside and it now looks beautiful I think. Very very happy with it. Sound is great too, amazing for something at least 40 years old. Thanks must also go to Pete on this very forum who kindly sent me a replacement dial and cloth, much appreciated... | |||||

| I have had this conversatio... I have had this conversation to many times, even thoe some diagree any thing made by the original manufacture and it has been in continutious production is not a knockoff or repoduction If a chair is in continuous production, like lots of the Herman Miller chairs they are original the marshmallow and LCW were reintroduced in the 90's so they are considered reissued by the original company, When Alphaville gets a hold of the piece it is a reproduction of the original ... | |||||
| Junghans mash-up | 1 Relevance | 10 years ago | bj | General discussion | |
| Received a nice looking champagne dialed Junghans clock, only: the dial is water damaged all around and vendor wouldn't take it back. As the clean Max Bill-like look was ruined (me thinks), I started stripping the dial, making up a new one out of several different Bill designs and through electro-cut vinyl, sprayed this onto the old dial. Paint bleeded a bit, need to clean this up, but all in all I'm quite satisfied. Only problem; wasn't taking the pointers in account when making up the dial: now the short one travels over the numerals. What to do? | |||||
| Mosaic Tile Clock ID? | 1 Relevance | 17 years ago | tchp | General discussion | |
| I got this wall clock with no movement. It appears to have been a key wind, originally, as there are two key openings in the solid brass dial that have been covered over from the back with tape. I got an IKEA desk clock at the Goodwill and put that movement/hands on this clock for the time being. It seems well made. Grouted tiles on a heavy gauge metal plate, teak center insert with solid brass dial. Seems to go well with teak stuff. Just wondering if anyone recognizes it. | |||||
| Nick & Nora Candlestick Phone | 1 Relevance | 18 years ago | jbnickovich | General discussion | |
| I recently got a Nick & Nora Phone at a yard sale for $15. I wanted to know more about them. I know it's not the Original Ericofon, but a cobra style phone none the less. I like that it is push dial rather than rotary dial. I wanted to know when these were produced. Also it has all three original lables on the back of the phone. somewhat of an eye-sore spot, but also cool that all three original labels are in tact. Should I leave these stickers on or remove them? Is there any value to this phone? it still works, and is not my new office phone. htt ... | |||||

| ... 4 ought steel wool and acetate to kind of scrub the remaining ring from the grain. Generally it looks pretty good, but still a few faint scratch lines and dents / gouges remain. I've taken three stabs at the gouges, first steaming, then using a filler (way too light - removed with acetate and Q-tips). For the third attempt, I sourced a couple of color sticks from a local art supply and ground them with a mortar and pestle, then mixed into the putty base. Looked promising when wet, but was too light after drying and sanding. I'm gonna make another run at ... | |||||
