| LRF, Your home looks divine!... LRF, Your home looks divine! I'd love to see a shot of the facade. Another question about exposed brick walls..Do they constantly shed bits of brick dust? or do you seal them? Thanks again for the link. SDR, Once again, you have plugged yet another design idea into my tiny brain. The idea of a curbed trough filled with rock I like real well. | |||||
| Dumpster Diving | 2 Relevance | 18 years ago | James Collins | General discussion | |
| Dumpster diving Circa 1998 we were driving around the south of market area in SF and saw the leg sticking out of a dumpster in a BofA branch parking lot. It had a beat up top of wood-grain formica on particle board. Looked like those tables you stand at to fill out your deposit slips on. The whole base is a single piece of aluminum. Makes a perfect kitchen island. | |||||

| Dumpster diving Just last week I reclaimed a soft-pad that had been put out for garbage. The aluminum base needs some restoration but otherwise is in good structural condition. Where I need some help is on how best to strip the clear coat that is over the polished metal parts and already flaking off in some areas. Should I strip by chemicals or by abrasion? I think this may have been partially covered in an old thread so hopefully the helpers are still out there. | |||||

Divirging slightly (ok, a lot) from the question, here's a fantastic read about "one computer professional's explorations in the world of postmodern literary criticism." http://www.info.ucl.ac.be/people/PVR/decon.html Fascinating for non-English majors, and probably offensive for those that are! Enjoy. | |||||

| Division My first thought is that the space could be partitioned (visually and/or physically) into two or three spaces. One for the kitchen area, one for the craft / play / storage (?) area, and one for the actual living area. | |||||

| Division would be helpful. Make sure to put Identifications/VALUATIONS because that is what 99% of the ID questioners are really asking for in the first place. If they don't see a Valuations category, they will plop their question in the first available category. Just my two cents. | |||||

| Established as a division of Knoll Associates, the labels did not change until 1969. Yes, it's true Knoll International was formed in 1951, but it was formed as the international sales division of Knoll Associates. Knoll Associates officially changed their name to Knoll International in 1969, after they purchased the European based Gavina Company. I'll dig into my reference books for an explanation, back in 5 minutes. | |||||
