| a silly disaster. Elastic ribbing. I saw it somewhere. Stapled under the shelf. Cannot find the link... My books have lived the life of a nomad. Humidity of New Orleans, the four seasons of an upstate barn... But i shall not torment them with odd suspension. It is the internet isn't it? In the past would we ever see this? Funny anyway. (I made some pretty crazy crafty crap in high school!) | |||||

| Disasters of this kind have... Disasters of this kind have impact on building codes. More than the airport's architect, the structural engineer and the construction company will have to answer as to what happened, though I am sure the courts would hear from all three. I don't think it will have an impact on "progressive" architecture and or oweners' willingness to take a risk. | |||||
| Simple Human Products Press N Tear Paper Towel Dispenser Satisfaction | 2 Relevance | 17 years ago | dcwilson | General discussion | |
| In the age of baroque application of technology to ridiculously simple tasks, consider the Simple Human Products Press N Tear Paper Towel dispenser as proof that design with technology CAN improve function in simple tasks, not just add sizzle and pointless complexity. I have spent a long life utterly disatisfied with accessing paper towels. Laugh if you must, but it is a fact. I have tried wall hanging dispensers, upright dispensers, even made my own up right dispenser from scrap wood. I have scavenged the internet and department stores. And all to no satisf ... | |||||

| At least for myself, the disc... At least for myself, the discussion has been more about curiosity rather than concern. It's certainly part of the joy of collecting vintage pieces, finding out and learning about the smallest details. | |||||

| Parking discs We do have them in Germany. Well, actually, not anymore that much since in most citys you have to pay and need a ticket that you display under your front window and that has the expiration time on it. But when i was a kid there were a lot of areas where you were allowed to park for free only for a certain amount of time. And the disc showed the moment when you parked your car. I don't see great possibilities of cheating, unless you wanna return to your car every two hours to adjust the disc. Which would have been dangerous, because there werde ... | |||||

| Black disc is the original france and son company logo after it changed from France and daverkosen gold embosed into the frame. The company dates to late 1948 - 1950 and used the France and Daverkosen up until mid 1950s when it went to France and son and then in 1964 became CADO. The silver disc is just a serial number as far as I am aware. | |||||

| discalced -- denoting or belonging to a strict religious order or congregation of Catholic friars or nuns who go barefoot or wear only 1954 boot glides. I guess it is rightly deemed a fetish if a standard H base happens to be titillating. But I'm supposed to get excited only by the pretty LARs or eiffel bases? HouseKebab, come back! We so miss being accused of self-actualization through good design. | |||||
