| So my buddy was in a local shop this weekend and asked AGAIN about this Nelson clock in pieces on the work bench. Guy fianlly says "sure, $50". Buddy buys it and brings it over. It is disassembled, none of the spikes are attached and they have been PAINTED. The colored sections on the hands have been painted as well. It's a key wound version. Has all the keys, screws, everything, but its a mess. Someone painted the spikes while on the clock so there is paint on the body as well. So we are trying to figure out what he should do. We end up taking brush cleaner ... | |||||

| I recall this was raised a few times with older pieces and the suggestion was made to try dipping in peroxide. This site seems to elaborate much more and seems to work great, and may be useful for reference: (Note: I'm not associated, just came across this link and thought it might equally apply here) http://retr0bright.wikispaces.com/ | |||||

| the dude that owns 1st dips ... the dude that owns 1st dips is hoping that anyone will buy him, and he can make a big buck . he claims that he does more business than all the big major auction houses , which is bull crap. They get full credit for all buy sells and recorded sales, this guy just gages his sales and tells you what he thinks you want to hear, I doubt ebay would even fool with him, | |||||

| As per direct correspondence with Ulrich Omann, the 3rd generation owner of Omann Jun, Gunni was not a designer but rather did sales to the U.S. Here is Ulrich's exact response to my inquiry of how design credit should be given: "I think it is better to say that it was designed by the family Omann, who have always contributed 100% to design and production 🙂 To say that it was made by a in-house designer is also wrong!" Omann Jun is still in business: : www.omannjun.com | |||||

| Herman Miller's now selling direct | 2 Relevance | 16 years ago | barrympls | General discussion | |
| Has anyone gone to Herman Miller's website? They're now selling all of their For the Home products directly, probably ticking off their authorized dealers. I know that Unica is no longer carrying Herman Miller. Neither Hive nor Highbrow is showing the new Nelson Basic Storage cabinets and metal legged bench, although their street date was last Monday. The truth is that Hive and Highbrow's prices for Herman Miller products is always lower than the 'actual list price', and that list price is what Miller is selling their stuff for....and they likely charge f ... | |||||

| I do business direct with Her... I do business direct with Herman Miller, Modernica, knoll. Business in the MCM market is still fantastic. They say that all the new reissues of the last 10 years are doing better than ever. The designs are timeless. People are buying the old stuff.but new from these companies. One good thing cheap china fakes are drying up. Most people do not like newy newy modern it is cheap and cheesy. If they have money they want classic modern. So what is classic modern? MCM.
