| What do you men a disguised... What do you men a disguised appearance? DO you have a photo? I have started a twitter for good deals on Austin's Craigslist. I have passed up too many good deals that I have been sharing with friends and a deal like this I'll even buy and give away to a friend. I was thinking about buying these for a friend who only has space for a two seater dining set in their small house. Do these look dining height to you? | |||||

| Not sure. dining maybe. But... Not sure. dining maybe. But I have DCMs. But I like the idea of a non wood, easy to clean, stacking chair for dining. That way they can be put aside easily to use the table for large art projects etc... I have been thinking of this chair off and on for a while, and there is a couple more in the same vein, like the other Kartell you mention. But as you say, the colombo is more handsome. Most likely will not rid of the DCMs (they are a pain to find a suitable dining table for ....). But I even like the idea of this chair for an o ... | |||||

| Hey! That's my dining table. though I couldn't tell you who designed it. I found mine years ago, without its leaves; and mine is cherry not blond. The top is solid wood, except it had wood-grain formica inset on its top, solid wood border and sides. I thought the table great save for the laminate, so I removed it and replaced it with cherry veneer (and several coats of polyurethane). Though there are vestigial seams on the sides, the top is now seamless cherry. I've had it for over ten years, thinking I'd trade up eventually. But, I've just never tired of th ... | |||||
| I like the dining table next to the windows | 2 Relevance | 17 years ago | william-holden-... | General discussion | |
| I like the dining table next to the windows but I think I might like to see it parallel with the window, lengthwise. I'm not sure about the rubber matting, or if it's readily available commercially. I'll look around, and see if I can back up my idle claim... Regarding the mystery white thing: I meant the verticle thing attached to the wall of the annex, near the window-- I wouldn't worry about the playpen clashing with the lounge chair-- the playpen is only semi-permanent. It will inevitably look out of place wherever it is, best that it's off to the side, a ... | |||||

| Burke, Inc Saarinen style dining table and chairs Thanks to all who replied. I always regarded this set as a fun knock off. I love mid-century things even if they are the department store version. I am interested in buying something different so I want to sell this set. I will be sure to call it what it is. | |||||

| Dining set I've been pondering this dining set for my new abode in Santa Fe. You should also consider second hand shops, the russel Wright stuff from the '50s is still available for a reasonable price and would look cool with your new retromodern house. http://www.cb2.com/family.aspx?c=810&f=5003 | |||||

| The dining chair idea went o... The dining chair idea went out the window when I discovered they were a rarity. I bought them cheap on craigslist with the understanding that they needed new upholstery. I thought that I could do it myself and have a nice set of usable chairs in the end. I was searching online for tips on how to reupholster them when I came across the Eames office archives with pics of the chair that looked just like mine. I emailed them several pics, they confirmed that they were indeed original, and the chairs have been in my closet covered ... | |||||

| Use as dining chairs? In my opinion, too valuable, please don't. These are extremely valuable. Keep them in their original condition. Restoration can be risky to the value of the chairs. Personally I would sell one and with the money, get a nice and usable set of newer production Aluminum Group chairs. Keep the others for whenever you need more cash. This is just my opinion but consider this auction result, from Wright Auctions, Chicago, Modern Design Auction 07 October 2007: Charles and Ray Eames pre-production Aluminum Group chair Herman Miller USA, 19 ... | |||||
