| Dining room table help.... | 2 Relevance | 21 years ago | NULL NULL | General discussion | |
| Hi, After quite a bit of searching, we have found a dining table we like very much. The problem is that it is outside our budget--big time. The table can be found at http://www.longhi.it/sito/index.php?pag=dettagli&id_argomento=2&id_categoria=2&id_articolo =6&pag_caratteristiche=271desko We were interested in the bleached oak finish. Among other things, we like the table because it is reasonably compact when not extended (1.3m long extending to 1.9m). It goes for $2500. We would like to find something for less than $1500 or so. Can anyone recommen ... | |||||

| I have discovered that the most effective way to use the Internet to help you to identify a piece of Danish modern furniture, after you have exhausted obvious direct queries, is to start attempting to identify Danish modern furniture for other people. Google is not so very direct in its understanding of your keywords, so you may find an excellent lead for a daybed while trying to find someone else's credenza. Or dining chair. It helps to keep the context to Danish modern, but beyond that you must enjoy looking a Danish design enough to want to look at a mill ... | |||||

I figure that the sagging chair and table were victim of a heavy snowfall from a roof. I hope to clean the mesh, and straighten the arms, Any suggestions for cleaning the mildew from the mesh? | Dining table height is | 2 Relevance | 10 years ago | Daniel_Ostroff | General discussion | |
| Dining table height is generally plus or minus 29 inches. This is an Eames Contract Base table, first introduced in 1958, with the introduction of the Eames Aluminum Group and made pretty much continuously since 1958. The Eames Contract Base table of 1978 was made the same way as the Eames contract base table of 1958. There was a period of time when these came with real wood veneer tops, but those have been made available again, so that's not necessarily the best clue. Best way to date is to find out on which date the original owner bought it. Sometimes you can get an approximate idea of age by a tag or label, but tags and labels often fall off, and people sometimes substitute tags and labels. | |||||

| My favourite dining chairs, I have a set myself around a circular Wegner table and these pictures have convinced me to reupholster mine in leather. I don't know who designed the table but I can say with a reasonable amount of confidence that it was not Wegner. | |||||

| Got a new marble tulip dining | 2 Relevance | 11 years ago | Dodolah | General discussion | |
| Got a marble tulip dining table from craigslist 2 weeks ago. The table was abandoned by the owner who sold her mid century house, because she is moving out and she said it was a hassle to bring it with her. She almost going to give it to her real estate agent if no one wanted it. Thank God, her agent is not a fan of mid century furnitures. I thought it was fake at first.. But, lo and behold, after further inspection.. I found eero saarinen medallion and knoll logo affixed to the table. It was a long trek but definitely worth it. | I bought a dining room set | 2 Relevance | 11 years ago | 1pathfinder | General discussion | |
| I bought a dining room set and side board when I was stationed in Nuremberg, Germany in 1971. It was a catalog deal with a representative, and good references. A truck pulled up one evening as arranged, and they were gone in 20 minutes. Looking back, it worked perfectly, and I have been pleased. I wouldn't do it today. Like your headboard! Unfortunately, they are not around anymore. | |||||
| I just disassembled some | 2 Relevance | 11 years ago | leif ericson - Zephyr Renner | General discussion | |
| I just disassembled some dining chairs from the 60s, probably early 60s, made by Søren Willadsen. They had leather seats, latex foam cushioning, and a plywood substructure. And the latex foam was in virtually perfect condition. It had almost not even started to yellow, except at the extreme edges. So leather, despite it breathability, will also serve to protect latex foam over a 50-ish year time frame. I suppose the scribble on the tag might indicate that the chair is a "factory second" if sparky is right about the stitching having been done wrong. I find ... | |||||
| It is a very common dining | 2 Relevance | 11 years ago | _ | General discussion | |
| It is a very common dining chair that was produced in the 1970's (age of the chunky oaks) by every retailer/furniture store around the world and there is probably no designer name involved. It is not bad looking though and by the looks of the chair's bases, it looks like they stack (?), so you can continue to find more. Keep them as it is or these are good chairs to personalize for your own use like stripping to bare natural light oak or lacquer with a color of your choice if worth your while. If this style is your calling, the series of chairs by Vico Magis ... | |||||

| Sadly, this dining set went from $125 for the set to FREE in 90 days. It is still not bad even if the chairs require recaning and could use a new upholstery. It was made by Lane and possibly part of the Delineator Line by attributed to Mccobb(?). | |||||
