| The dining table I have now is about 72 inches in length. There is just enough room for 3 chairs per long side and I use no chairs on either end. My dining area is relatively small and this works out perfectly. Except that I hate my dining table and I have been scouting one for some time. Right now there is a seller on eBay selling Eames dining tables for a great price with free shipping. I want to buy this dining table (linked below) which is really in light ash which will match my ash DCMs. I am wondering if I will still be able to fit 3 chairs on either ... | |||||
| identify my new danish dining table, vodder? | 2 Relevance | 17 years ago | jason sukiennik | General discussion | |
| So my wife and I had been looking for a credenza for an empty wall in our kitchen/dining room for some time and ended up with a whole new dining room set this past week. There's a sideboard with a china cabinet by Arne Vodder for Sibast, six Moller #75 chairs, and a table with two leaves, all in teak. The table has no markings other than "661" on the ends of the leaves. I was curious if anyone could id it for me. I've included some pics. The seller said he bought it while stationed in Germany over thirty years ago and it sat in the same room all that time, ... | |||||
| I.D. Rocking Chair & Danish Dining Chair! | 2 Relevance | 17 years ago | Cream and Chrome | General discussion | |
| Hi, I've searched around for an I.D on these two chairs (danish dining chair and rocking chair), and found no 100% i.d. So, can you guys help at all? (This is purely for insurance purposes and I will keep the chairs forever and ever (unless, for some reason, the rocking chair gets listed on ebay on Sunday night at around 6.15pm). And, I only hang carpet down the wall in my garage to keep the chairs nice and warm.) Thank you. Stew | |||||

| I just thought I would post some pictures of my new dining set. I found a Hans Wegner Heart table a couple of months ago and have been slowly doing it up in my spare time. It had soaked up several months worth of rainfall, the top was very discoloured and heavily stained, the legs were unattached and smothered in very old toxic black paint. After sanding, scraping and swearing at it in equal measure I now have it back to its former glory. The paint had penetrated deep into the fibre of the Beech legs so I had to adopt some rather severe wood bleaching techni ... | |||||

| ... so I don't have to watch it's painful demise on a daily basis.. Does anyone have this ongoing issue? Also, I really want a nice dining set.. but it needs to be kid friendly, laminate top maybe, able to cope with crayons and paint, be wiped thoroughly every day, solid, small, seat 4-6 people, chairs fit snug underneath, durable etc etc.. Similar to Frem Rojle, but not wood maybe. Any help here would be GREAT!!!! | |||||

| Need to identify 8 Drexel dining chairs | 2 Relevance | 17 years ago | mpriceuva | General discussion | |
| Hello, I'm hoping someone out there knows something about the style/time period for these Drexel dining chairs and how much I could get for them. I purchased them from a rummage sale last weekend and though they are absolutely beautiful, they don't really work with my decor. There are 2 arm chairs and 6 side chairs--I was told that they are probably fruitwood from the 1960s. The seats needs to be recovered though the foam cusions are in perfect condition. Any info would be much appreciated. Thanks! http://drexelchairs.shutterfly.com/ | |||||

| How to finish vintage teak dining set | 2 Relevance | 17 years ago | Benoit (CA) | General discussion | |
| Hi. I just bought a Farstrup (1968) dining set in teak and birch (or maybe maple). The set is painted white. I already stripped all the paint from the table and now I am wondering what color I should stain it. I am planning to finish with a teak oil. I would like this set to look as original as it can. Any suggestion? Thanks, Benoît (Québec) | |||||
| How do I refinish Eames Alumnium Grp dining table top? | 2 Relevance | 17 years ago | NULL NULL | General discussion | |
| Help! So I got this old Eames dining table. Herman Miller, Aluminum group, 54", dates from 1979. Looking at the underside of the top it appears to be walnut, however it has a vaneer/ laquer/ or something that is "yellowish" or "honey". Any ways, the top has some gouging and the major damage is four eruption to the table top that occured when someone attempted to affix the base with screws that were too long. I have never done this kind of work but I would really like to fix it because I really love this table. I want to strip it, sand it, fill gouges etc. an ... | |||||
