Martin Szekely
Born in 1956, Marin Szekely lives and works in Paris.
Szekely’s work is diverse, ranging from domestic and public furniture to product design, to ceramics and objects for museums. His minimalist Pi chaise longue (part of a collection) of 1982, edited by Pierre Staudenmeyer’s Neotù gallery in Paris, brought him to public attention. He also worked with other clients such as Hermès, Valli & Valli, Heineken, JCDecaux, Transel/Electricité de France (EDF), and Dom Perignon.
His drinking glass for Perrier was produced in 12 million examples. Szekely, has not only designed products for luxury goods such as holders for champagne and 2007 perfume flacons for Roger & Gallet but also industrial design projects such as his solution for electricity pylons. He was elected Créateur de l’Année at the 1987 Paris Salon du Meuble and received the Alfred Dunhill Prize for a remarkable man of the year 1999.
