Brass wall sconce pair by Lars Holmström for Arvika 1950s Sweden

A lovely mid-century brass wall lamp pair with decorated brass back plate designed and handmade by Lars Holmström, Arvika – Sweden 1950s. These sconces are for wall hanging and gives a beautiful shine when candles are lit. Marked with Lars Holmström, Arvika. Great natural patina and good vintage condition. Measures: 38cmH x 23cmW x 16cmD. Lars August Holmström was born 1894 and died in Båstad, Sweden 1959. Holmström was a mid-century artsmith and participated in the Paris Exhibition where he hit with candlesticks and chandeliers and also with silver work. He is often mentioned in French Art Magazines, where his work is referred to as masterpiece of art.
