Lara Bohinc is primarily a jeweller who uses her training in industrial design to make conceptual, eclectic, ambitious pieces as well as leather accessories, sunglasses and handbags with an art deco twist. She has, in the past, collaborated with Gucci, Costume National, Lanvin, Exte, Guy Laroche, Marcus Lupfer and Julien Mcdonald, and is a freelance consultant for Cartier International. Lara Bohinc’s innovations are utterly original – think leather and metal shells with translucent Perspex handles; engraved metal cigarette cases in the spirit of Marlene Dietrich and spherical Perspex bags moulded with sterling silver clasps and chains. In 2007 she opened her first stand-alone store in Sloane Terrace.
