Forgas Joan

Forgas Joan

Joan Forgas is a Catalan architect with a degree from the UPC, he has been a professor at ETSAV from 1988 to 2004, teaching and participating in numerous courses, master’s degrees and conferences at various universities and national and international forums. Together with Joan Pascual and Teresa Gimeno, he won the FAD prize in 1990 for an industrial building in Riudellots. That same year he founded his own architecture studio together with Dolors Ylla-Català, dedicated to the development of projects in public spaces, infrastructures, facilities, housing, restaurants, and heritage. In these years of trajectory, the team has obtained diverse prizes and recognition and has won numerous competitions of national and international ideas. The team works in the search of the balance between the intrinsic emotional capacity of the architecture and the inexcusable utility and proportion that accompany it, making proposals that attend to the physical context, are environmentally responsible and technologically solvent and that respond to the demands and issues that society raises.
