Castiglioni Giorgina

With a degree from the Politechnic University of Milan, she works professionally in the sectors of industrial design, furnishings, architectural planning, restructuring of vacant urban sites and the setting up of showrooms. She has gained recognition by taking part in national and international competitions in architecture and industrial design. Some of her projects are displayed in the Museo della Permanente in Milan, the Triennale of Milan and are permanent parts of the Centre de Création Industriel Paris-Louvre, at the Kunstgewerbemuseum in Zurich, at the Museo Kartell di Binasco (Milan) and at the Museo Alessi (Crusinallo). In 2000 she took part in the VIIth Biennale di Architettura in Venice. In 2001, first prize at the”Fashion a Grandesign 2001″. Since 2002, Permanent Design Collection at theMuseo della Triennale with the most products. Since 2004, she exhibits at Cannon-Sandretto, Museo Arti Plastiche. She works with the following companies: Bilumen, Ceramica Dolomite (Gruppo American Standard Europe BVBA, bath and kitchen), Sirrah (now iGuzzini), Ceramicas Gala (Burgos), Gufram, Hatria (Gruppo Marazzi), Pedano, Spea (Teramo), Valenti, Veneranda Fabbrica del Duomo in Milan. Ritual clothing, prototypes (Ente Fiera di Vicenza), 1989. 1998: FROM THE SPOON TO THE CITY AND BACK AGAIN, a reference, today, to the ideas of Ernesto N. Rogers(National Architecture First Prize, Trevi Flash Art Museum). Single piece made in a series: jewels. In the publishing sector she works with these magazines: TRE, European Building Magazine, Bagno e accessori, Stileindustria ADI, IIDD-ADI, Omnibus: Ricerca sul “Design per tutti” 1999. Mapei reality. Bioecological architecture and projects selected at the “Premio Ambiente Carnia”: “A project for the piazza”, “The ecological house” and “H2O: from the land to the domestic surrounding”. A study in bio-ecological planning aimed at the recycling of industrial waste that might lead to a refiguring of the meaning of the image also through photography. Planning, production and setting up of travelling exhibitions and exhibitions-in-progress: FROM PLASTIC TO PLASTIC, inaugurated at the Triennale of Milan in 1997; NOTES ON THE METAMORPHOSIS OF MATERIAL, inaugurated at the 7th InternationalExhibition-Conference Environmental Service Technology, TauExpo, Fiera diMilano, 1999. Also, PORTRAITS: a specific reference to free interdisciplinary relations, or rather “Ecologia Umana”, inaugurated in 2002 at the LibreriaInternazionale Hoepli in Milan.
