Hi, sorry to piggy back on to this discussion but came on line in search of a close up image of a jacobsen swan chair base and came across this thread...
I've just picked up an old swan chair but the base is broken, seems there's a part missing from the top element of the base which is fixed to the chair shell so when connected it is a loose fit/wobbly fit. If any one could post a couple of close up images of the base (even better if upper and lower parts are separated) I'd be really grateful, think i'll need to get something fabricated to repair it.
Thanks a million
Hans

Same problem with a loose base
Hi Hans
Sounds like I have the same problem. The O-ring which holds the bearings in place has broken. If you find someone who can make a new one? Let me know!
Thanks
Colin
