Just because I did this yesterday, here's a look at how effective 0000 and solvents can be. The top one of these Dux pieces has been cleaned with turpentine and the bottom still has all of its old grime.
Hello @browkin
I restored my Moller 75 & 78 teak chairs (that were unfortunately varnished by the previous owner) by using stripping gel, then I proceeded with sanding (sanding papers 180, 220 and then ultra-fine sanding sponge), I prepped the wood with 0000 grade steel wool and then applied three coats of danish oil (one coat every 24 hours, sanded lightly with the 0000 grade steel wool between all coats and after every coat removed the excess oil by lightly rubbing with a clean cotton cloth). Linked is the result, before applying bees wax polish. Above procedure was suggested by the wonderful and wise members of this forum which have my sincere appreciation. https://imgur.com/gallery/lTDh4e1
***Be very careful with the oil damped cotton cloths, let them dry flat outside. Oily cloths can self-combust***
