Hey everyone,

Just snatched up this great Summit two-tone armshell with its removable slipcover for next to nothing. I had to see what was underneath so off she came. And yellow it is!

The situation at the homestead is whether to leave the vinyl cover on, rock the two-tone or remove the back grey paint and live in the lemon.

The chair is in remarkable shape and condition. The vinyl slipcover has markings and grime. It certainly needs cleaned if left on but someone thinks it "dates" the chair and doesn't look as nice. 🙂

What would you do? Help is needed.

I have had great success cleaning the covers with Mother's VLR a soft bristled brush and a rag.

At least give it a wash before you do anything irreversible.

Thanks for the vinyl cleaning tips, Amazake! Still in a debate on what looks best...

Let me know if you decide to sand it, I'll give you a had when the weather warms up.

I'll make Moscow Mules and we'll toast to Mark.

I has almost an identical chair. Removed the cover and took off the paint with acetone and a lot of elbow grease. Its in an old thread somewhere. Came out great!

Lemon does look nice. Acetone may leave some unpleasant marks, though.

What about just washing it properly and leaving as they are - grey underneath matches the lemon shade quite nicely.
