I recently picked up a pair of upholstered Herman Miller Shell chairs. One of them was really trashed. It had been left in a barn and a squirrel had burrowed into it and filled with walnuts!
Cloth removed, took hours to scrape and sand off the foam. Beneath it all was a nice white shell.
I have read that I should NOT apply Penetrol to a white chair.
So what should I shine it up with?

Just clean it with tktoo's various cleaning methods on the "Restoring rope edge DAX" thread. The shine should return naturally, since it was covered.
This is my second choice though… I would have left it original as found, WITH walnuts.
Authenticity you know...

I hope I didn't make a mistake. I put carnuba wax on it. Looks pretty good.
