Hello! I posted about a month ago about our Dyrlund credenza's sliding doors not being removable. After taking it to a friend, we were able to "solve" the mystery. There are little buttons that pop down when you push the door up. They sit in between the particle board in the middle layer of the door. It appears that they are quite stubborn and had become stuck after some years of not being used. When we had the credenza on it's side and back, etc, they loosened up.
It still took a little force to get them out and unfortunately a small piece of the back of the door has torn off in the process. Something that can be likely be repaired with wood glue (but will take any suggestions). Although since I have access to these knobs now, wondering if anyone has a source for hardware/vintage hardware? I went to our local store and tried searching the internet to no avail.
Attached is a photo.
Also, here is the original thread:

That is what we in the U.S. call a bullet catch. You should be able to find these. As for the damage seen in the photo, clear away any loose fibers from both halves of the break. Assure that the piece of wood will go back where it belongs completely, then prepare a little caul to clamp the piece with glue. The caul could be a small block of wood or other smooth flat material, covered with shiny tape unless it is glass or smooth plastic, which could be waxed to prevent the glue from sticking to it.
The clamp and caul (with protection on the other face of the door) will make sure that the bond is tight. Assuming the bullet catch works well, you can include it as shown when you do the glue-up. If you prefer to have it removable, wait until the glue has dried (use it sparingly) and employ the correct drill to ream out the opening.

Is the broken out piece still intact, or is it just a bunch of particle board crumbs?
