I have some AJ series 7 chairs, they have cracked in the obvious area at the bottom of the back rest.

Is it possible to repair the moulded plywood or due to the area have they had it?

Thanks!

If
the outer (face) plies have not cracked or torn, there is hope. Glue can be injected/spread into the failing area and clamps can be applied (with form-fitting cauls) to reintegrate the separated plies. Any loose pieces should be carefully (re)positioned during this process.
There was discussion a couple of years ago on this issue; I think Koen had some good ideas about which adhesive(s) to consider.
