Hi all,
I picked this chair about a year ago as it was not too expensive.
Fiber glass and orange bouclé wool fabric. I think the original base was a la Fonda one. Marked with a sticker of the french importer of Herman Miller (interform) and a little v (Vitra production I guess). I think it dates from the 1970s.
The fabric is stained and despite several attempts, the stains won't go... I am thinking of removing the upholstery.
Do you think it would be a good idea? I mean I can live with the stains and I would not want to find out that there are some holes drilled in the seats or something.
Many thanks for your help!
DrPoulet,
I am unable to detect the stains in your photo. I have a suggestion...
Locate a store similar to Neiman Marcus or Saks Fifth Avenue in the closest major metropolitan area. The department manager of women's haute couture can name the local cleaner for garments worn by models at "in store" events. Both the stores mentioned above use the same cleaner in my area and this has worked for me. The cleaner is used to handling varied materials with a multitude of stains.
