I recently purchased an American of Martinsville coffee table and it definitely needs to be refinished. The previous owner did a really poor job adding clear coat to the top of the table, there's water rings, a cigarette burn in the middle of the table, and the legs need to be properly secured.
Because the table top has the X shaped bronze inlays I'm a little nervous starting this project. Do you think applying a varnish stripper like citristrip would cause the bronze inlays to come off? Should I work around the bronze inlays?
Ive included a couple photos of the coffee table. Thanks!
