Looks like the lacquered version of the more recent production. If that's indeed it, I'd try using Howard's Feed and Wax. Apply it on some 0000 steel wool and just buff out the scratches. I've had some pretty amazing results. Again, try it only of it's the lacquered version. Please let us know how it goes. Good luck.
