Metal brackets stuck to eames shock mounts  

All,Trying to take apart a pre 1960 eames lounge chair. I removed the screws from the shock mounts but the metal brackets won't budge. Not sure if they are just stuck on because they have never been removed. Wanted to see if anyone else has had this issue before. I guess it's possible someone glued the brackets to the shocks, but doubtful. Next I may tap on the brackets with a rubber mallet, but figured I would ask if anyone has run into this issue and any tips.Warm regards,Patrick
