I am trying to discover how the leather on the inside back of a egg chair is fixed to the shell / foam and what tricks are used to get the correct shape without ripples and sags ect.I realise the out side back is stretched whilst wet but the front looks much more problematic.Any tips would be welcome. Thanks

On compound concave curves you have to glue the fabric or leather to the foam, and with solvent based spray adhesives you have a short open time in which to reposition the material. Sometimes almost no time, so you have to know how to do it before you start. If you pull the material off, it'll take foam with it and then you'll have divots in the foam plus foam crud on the material.
I wouldn't attempt a Jacobsen egg without some practice first.
