I found a Eames shell/arm chair on Craigslist that someone had painted. Black H base, parchment color, I've narrowed it down (I think) to a 1955 - 1957 model.
I used Citristrip to removed the paint, and it worked like a charm. The chair now has a bit of a rough fiberglass texture, and I'd like to clear coat/polish it, etc.
I read not to use Panatol because it will cause the chair to yellow. The Herman Miller website says to use "pre-softened automotive paste wax" but the guy at the local auto store seemed flummoxed.
Does anyone have any suggestions on what to use? Thanks for your help in advance.
