Hello,
Happen to stubble upon a fiberglass arm shell in the trash while walking home this weekend in Brooklyn (no base). Being too excited and impatient I began to rip off the upholstery and padding to see what was underneath.
Does anyone have any information on this shell?? Don't know if I should redo the upholstery or leave it bare? Thinking of redoing the upholstery just because of the 3 vent holes. Anyone know where I could find the original catalog with fabric colors from the 60s-70s? Looking to put it on a rocker base.
Opinions are greatly appreciated.
Looking at sending it off for a proper restoration. I have emailed retro redo and humemodern. Humemodern responded with a quote for $560 to replace shock mounts and and redo upholstertry. Still waiting to hear from Retro Redo.
Thanks

Someone posted this swatch card scan here last year. I don't know if if the nylon hopsack is still made by anyone but you can at least get an idea of the colors. This card is from the late 50s, I think, but I don't think the colors changed drastically over the years.
I've seen vintage nylon hopsack on Ebay from time to time.
As for getting the work done, check out BK Upholstery outside of Philadelphia. They used to have their rates for some iconic pieces on their website but now they don't. I have no personal experience with them, I just think they're worth a look.
