I recently purchased an early Eames 670 lounge and ottoman. There are three screws attaching the arms and slid on glides on the ottoman. The leather is shot, but the rosewood shell is in very good condition. I have a very talented upholsterer that I would trust with the job, but the bases that the leather zips onto are also torn up (they mate with the earlier hook design). Does anyone have any ideas on how to desk with the torn bases? I've been waiting for someone with early cushions for sale, but I'm losing hope.
Thanks,
Mike

Do you mean the cushion backing is torn or the round clip on the plywood? Maybe some pictures can help. Once we get more info, maybe we can ask some restorers we're familiar with for you.

The cushion backs are torn
The cushion backs are torn both around the hook holes and between the zippers and cushion backs.
Thanks,
Mike

Hello there, you may be in...
Hello there, you may be in luck! I have quite a few early 670 & 671 parts including cushions that I may be willing to sell as long as it is for a good cause, which it seems to be. Please send me an email with pictures of your chair/ottoman and we can figure out what the best way to address your chair will be.
Email: drose115@me.com
Kindly,
David
