Hello everyone!
I am refinishing an eames fiberglass shell and have a question hopefully someone can answer. I am using Penetrol to restore the color of the shell and have already put one coat on it and its already been drying for 3 days. When I touch the shell now it has a slight stickiness to it, not a wet feeling but just a slight sticky feeling. Has anyone else had this problem ? Does anyone know how to get the stickiness off ? After the chair is fully dry can I take some water to it to clean the stickiness off ? Thanks everyone !

Penetrol is an oil based product, and can take a while to dry. The tackiness should go away once the application has dried completely.

Alright, thanks for the info ! How long do you think I should wait until putting the next coat of Penetrol on? I have read on a few websites that it usually takes around 48 hours for the oil to cure. Thanks again !

Dry time can depend on...
Dry time can depend on humidity and temperature. So long as the Penetrol was not contaminated, and the chair was clean with no residue of oil, etc., the Penetrol should cure and not be tacky before too much longer. A warm, dry place helps.
