So, I am completely aware that this is a knockoff, but it is an older knockoff piece (probably from the 60s or 70s). I believe the vinyl slings were done later as they seem amateurish (even moreso than what a knockoff ususally is). My question is whether to try to acquire new slings or is it even worth it? The cost of most leather ones seem prohibitive, but I feel fairly confident that I could make canvas ones myself. Since this is a knockoff, and I got it free from a craigslist curb alert, I am not determined for it to be perfect, just in better condition than it is now. Any thoughts?
Being terminally lazy, I would just learn to appreciate the shit instead of trying to shine it.
If you're crafty, though, this is a great opportunity to do something more unique and possibly super cute/cool with it. Canvas comes in many colors and you've got a few parts there to play with. Etc.
