I bought these 5 Burke chairs a few months ago for $5 a chair and haven't had time to work on them. I'm actually waiting for nicer weather. I know I need to wet sand them with fine grit sand paper, and then coat with penetrol which I've used in the past. But I'm at a loss about what to do about the cushions. Were they plywood with a little padding and then vinyl? I had the original cushions but they had been re-covered in some horrible looking fake fur which I tried to remove unsuccessfully. The original cushions I found underneath were each a different color purple, blue, green, red, and yellow. I should have saved them but they smelled horrible and were covered in black mold. Any suggestions on how to go about replicating these myself or in a thrifty manner?
