Hello community, I'm looking for one part for this chair that I came across recently, which I believe is a tyler padded ea217 chair, (replica of herman miller/eames executive chair EA217)
But I'm at my wits end, I've searched and asked companies that sell these chairs, but they ask if I purchased this chair there, I said no and they politely tell me they can't help me.
Mostly because there are numerous versions of these chairs.
Having said that, I believe someone can help me find one missing piece from this chair.
This part has numerous part names:
-seat support shaft cover.
-standpole cover
-base cover
-hub liner
-lift cover.
I have attached a pic of the piece I'd like, if anyone knows where I might be able to order this part, please let me know!
thanks.
One of the downsides of knock offs is that there is no incentive for quality, and there is minimal incentive for customer support. It is an unabashedly disposable product with no expected resale value. That is the implicit contract. As such, you are on your own with regard to finding a replacement part. I am amazed that they have a polite person who responds to such inquiries. The world is a better place than I expected!
Perhaps you should measure the diameter and then head down to the hardware store and see if they stock a chrome plated drain pipe that diameter or just a bit larger. Also check for a chrome plated closet rod, shower curtain rod, window curtain rod, ceiling fan mounting rod, toilet pull up rods, etc, etc.
It's just a knock off, and chrome plated cylinders are made by the billion every day.
Take heart---it's possible to acquire beautiful, authentic design without being rich! You just have to keep your ears and eyes open all the time and be willing to patient---very, very patient. I have a lot of gorgeous, genuine pieces that I got for way under retail by shopping at junk auctions, thrift stores, craigslist, and ebay. This approach doesn't work if you absolutely require brand new things and you want them immediately, but if you're flexible in those areas it's something to look into. Best of luck to you!
