Nessie, the Loch Ness monster.

Here are some (bad) pics of my collection of Danish sculptor Knud Albert's crazy biomorphic animal sculptures. My favorite is the one in the bottom two pics.

Oops, Paulanna, thank you for the information ! It's much appreciated. I have not seen you post earlier, as it is sandwidched in between comments on that horrible tiki cat.
btw, I have really been enjoying this thread in general, and all the pictures of sculptures ;o).
Pegboard, you're spot on with your description ! You've formulated it better than I could myself. Love that abstract piece you first posted btw. It's gorgeous.

Knud Albert info wanted...
Refering to Jesgord post above...
Although the quality of your pics are not the best, the sculpture sertainly are, I also love his work. I have a small collection (pic can be put on the web if requested) but there is one thing that is difficult to find and that is information regarding this Knud Albert, I have searched but got nothnig to show for it.
Is there anyone having information regarding Knud Albert, when he was active, where he worked how many sculptures he produced.... basically any information would be appreciated.

Bringing back this thread from the long lost past. Here is the only published material I have ever seen on Knud Albert's work. It is from a P. Broste Catalog. I was very excited to see this!

Are Knud Albert's sculptures each one-of-a-kind? Or were they carved to a model?
Or I guess what I am asking is have you ever seen the ones in the catalog page, which I would take to be very indicative that they were carved to a "model"?

There are repeating themes/general shapes, but each piece is an individual, unique creation. I spoke with his sister several years ago who was 86 at the time. She sent me pictures of his some of his work that she still had and pictures of several of his jewelry designs. She was lovely to speak with and talked about what a character her brother was.
