It 's no small task to design a chair
that's capable of poking out its users eyes, but Tom Dixon has attained this feat. Congrats, Tom!

outdoor use
Can any of these chairs safely go outside on a patio? I'm trying to figure out what to put out on the deck.

Buy some rusty old Bertoias...
Buy some rusty old Bertoias on the cheap and have them powder coated. Works every time! You might want them to be black though to hide the environmental gunk!

Deck Chairs?
I'd say get the white bertoia diamonds. Its what I'd do for deck chairs anyway. Not that hard to clean.
I think it does say "limited outdoor use" or something along those lines ... so you gotta take them in sometimes. Not quite a leave out to the elements sorta chair.
Agree with whitespike on the gunk ... but won't black get hot real quick in the sun? *sizzle*

Pads
Would it be considered sacriligious to made chair pads out of a "Sunbrella" type indoor/outdoor fabric to put on Bertoia or Woodard chairs?

Grcic chair
P.S. How do you pronounce his last name? Because I really love that chair!

There was a thread Grcic...
There was a thread that mentioned the Grcic chair.
See the link below. I hope it works ...
Some interesting insight.

other thread
GMT--that was a good thread, but nowhere did they pronounce his name. I took German in college and I'm going to take a wild stab at Grr-chick, no emphasis on either syllable. Austrians, Germans, Swedes, how do you really say it?
And since his highball glasses are about to become icons for Absolut Vodka, (an icon in and of itself), shouldn't we know how to say his name?
And, Germans, while you're at it, couldn't you try to put some more vowels in your names so us Americans could say them? (Just kidding!)

Tom Dixon wins the battle of the wire chairs for sheer audacity...
but my aesthetic favorites are the Panton bar stools.

But, if you want a chair that truly says "wire"...
may I recommend the "Corallo" by Fernando & Humberto Campana:
