My neighbor scored about twenty wire chairs of unknown orgin out of the University of Texas. I've seen one before and always wondered where it came from... His camera is shot, and I could wrangle up a photo later, but I made this quick and fugly illustration. It's very angular, and the base resembles a Bertoia almost exactly. I actually really like the design of it.
So?
Would be right at home

Congratulations
on attempting an illustration. I'll wait for a photo before consigning it to an "Ugly Chair" or "Uncomfortable Chair" thread. . .but it's leaning in that direction. Or some direction.
No, really, thanks for trying to draw it ! Who else would take the trouble. . .?
I'm having a rough week on design fora. (That's two or more forums.) (You're welcome)
whitespike, i love your illustration
I have a photo of a similar chair among my flickr faves. Doesn't say what it is though.

There's a set of four on Ebay.
You're right, Whitespike; they're a little more appealing in a photo than in your drawing. Still don't look very comfortable, though. (And unfortunately, the seller doesn't have an answer to your original question; he just says they're "in the manner of Bertoia".)
