I have an mcm home with lots of glass. The problem is the birds keep flying into the glass. It breaks my heart to see this happen. The house has huge overhangs and lots of places to hang mobiles so I thought this might work. If not, the only other thing I can think of is reflective stickers for the glass.

The houses
and restaurants here in the Alps that have huge expanses of glass use stickers shaped like birds. It seems to work, as I've not seen many bird carcasses (carcassi?) piled up against the base of the buildings.

Same problem here.
Nine times out of ten they're stunned, recover, and fly away. Still, our windows kill nearly a dozen birds a year, which is roughly equivalent to the number of avian homicides committed by our neighbor's cat, probably.
I've removed any feeders from near the house and that seems to have helped a little. I am not about to decorate the entire perimeter of the place with dangly things hanging from the eaves every two feet, though, or put stickers or pin-striping on the glass either.
So the birds around here are just going to have to adapt and I'm going to have to continue to dispose of their remains if I discover them before the other wildlife does.

Decals
One of the bridgeways at work (a few stories up) also uses bird decals on the windows.

I just looked into this recently
and was dismayed to read that a lot of the birds who seem to be only stunned actually die later of cerebral hemorrhages and other injuries. (I dunno how this is determined but it was on the Audubon Society's site so I choose to believe it. Plus, a bird flew into the window where I was sitting a few days ago and I watched it sit motionless in a nearby tree for a long time, which didn't seem normal.)
Anyway, they have a lot of suggestions, some of which might work with your house.

Thank you
I live at the edge of a wash. I think the birds fly over the wash and hit my glass. I also think they like to roost in front of the house. Unfortunately, there are also many hawks around and I think they fly in fear into the front of the house.
I had a female quail hit the glass and die. Her mate cried and cried, guarding her body all morning until I took it away. He chased off any birds that got close and kept touching her. It broke my heart.
I need this resolved before spring. I hate the idea of babies suffering and dying because their parent died after hitting my window.
Thank you for the suggestions. I was hoping to hang some mobiles off the overhangs that I could look past when looking out the glass. If I cant find any, than I guess it will be stickers. I would rather have the ugly stickers than dead birds. 🙁

I had the same problem until...
I had the same problem until I had this image enlarged, printed full size, and applied as a perforated window decal. Problem solved. But now I have lots of unused bird seed. Anyone want it?

what I found yesterday
I found this little one outside the glass yesterday. I had to take her to wildlife rehab as she had a broken leg. Poor thing.
The rehab said to hang metallic balloons which I will do. I think a couple strategically placed balloons along with some stickers may be an improvement.

Rockybird,
The only successful cost efficient solution I've used to deter pigeons from destroying historically significant buildings are bird nettings. The net does not obstruct the window view nor does it detract from the building facades because of the mesh size and material & spacing. You need to really get up close to see the netting. I had the opportunity to view the product installed before making a final decision. Ideally, I'd prefer not use a barrier but all other solutions by others failed in the past ( hawks, dummies, decals, spikes, shotgun, sound, displacement, etc.). In new construction, I've had success with motorized & fixed brise soleils. Please see the link below.

you could try hanging some...
you could try hanging some Blenko pressed glass sun catchers in the windows (interior). They would be aesthetically pleasing and may cut down on the carnage.
Good luck!
