Uh...
350-1500GBP? That's $550-$2400. It's impossible to believe that you can't find a better price.
Look, Modernica's full retail price for those pendants ranges from $269 (170GBP) for the 18" diameter to $435 (275GBP) for the 35". Even the ridiculous custom 50" version is only $1395 (880GBP).
For 1500GBP, you could buy an 18", a 25", AND a 35" from Modernica and have enough money left over to purchase three LAX-to-LHR airline seats for them.
And that's not even taking into account the 15%-off sales that Modernica has once or twice a year, or the almost-new bubble lamps that show up on Ebay every week.

Does the Modernica thing...
Does the Modernica thing take into account import duties/customs charges/tax? Here are my local stores:

On eBay the US sellers prepared to post worldwide are small in number and high in price.

Lit Up
my bank account is my business, but do feel free to speculate.
I find it rather odd that you have gone from wanting the
light to now criticising its manufacture and durability for no reason I can see, other than you can't afford it.

Gentlefolk, aren't accessories such as these
supposed to be luxury items? Would we covet them if they weren't? The price of a bubble compared to the junk offered in lighting showrooms doesn't provide much evidence supporting snobbery, IMO. Besides, the Nelsons are becoming so ubiquitous as to lose any exclusivity they may have once projected and they certainly are not "green". I hear green is hip right now.
Personally, I find the traditional Japanese paper lanterns preferable in a way. We have one hanging over our foyer and I rather like it's organic hand-made qualities, and the price is a bonus as I can easily replace it when the tissue becomes dingy. The thin latititudinal lines of the bamboo strips work better in this location, too, helping to resolve the verticality of the space. Dimmed, it looks fantastic from the street at night.

Robert
What is the history behind the constant attacks on your age and bank balance from other members. Its not very important I know the information but it always strikes me as a little odd?

Arthur
I'm not sure they're 'constant' but I have no idea.
I guess the age thing is 'out there' because of my ID, the bank balance is just a Lit Up fixation, I think.
This is the internet, we can all be either princes or paupers, and nobody is really any the wiser 🙂

Some people
Just seem to get obsessed with certain perceptions and pre-concieved ideas. They're like dogs with a bone, aren't they, Arthur?

I only have one thing to add to this thread, Robert should change his screen name to Robertlovechunk1960 with immediate effect.

As
you're a large part of that reccurence maybe you're best qualified to answer your own question?
I've certainly never bring up my own bank balance here. 🙂
P.S no-one 'follows' anyone on the internet, espcially on a public forum.
One posts, others read, some comment, lots more don't.
