These d-scan chairs, made in singapore...seem to be very very well made.
Can anyone tell me a little more about where this rosewood might/would have come from?
The original owner told me they bought them 34 years ago.
I have read the previous threads on d-scan.
all and any comments welcome

Hello,
thanks for the kind...
Hello,
thanks for the kind word SDR
cdsilva: I love this table...I have attached a couple of additional photos of the sticker and leg detail
oskar: my chairs do have a de-scan sticker on them....love that open oval in the back on the uldum chairs...wonder if I can pop out the upholstery and have that rosewood loop?...
I have attached a picture (not mine)from that high priced antique market place site of chairs like yours? ( 7171 dining chairs by Johannes Andersen for Uldum of Denmark) I don't have my chair right here but they seem remarkably similar in the photo.
thanks for the conversation
Oskar,
I have reupholstered the more common D-Scan dining chairs that look like the Erik Buch chairs but without the floating seat. The seat rests on four steel pegs that fit into the sides of the seat frame. I have seen Singapore labels on these and thought they were all made in Singapore. This week I redid another set---exactly the same style, same splintery mahogany plywood seats and backs (except one had a nice beech ply seat, oddly). But they had Uldum Fabrik - Made in Denmark stickers!
My theory is that they were made by Uldum in the beginning but then production was moved to Singapore for whatever reasons.
They were designed by a Danish guy--Benny Jorgensen? Benny-something, anyway.
The only maker I have seen...
The only maker I have seen associated with that table in the past is Paere Dansk. My understanding has been that it is a somewhat contemporary design, and is fairly recent.

hmmm, very similair version but I don't think the same...I see some differences in the profile...
This table came from an estate frozen in time...literally a moneyed family with a handicapped son who grew old in the home and they kept it the same for him even with all the old atari and star wars etc originally released as he had a very young mentality although was a middle aged adult. There was LITERALLY nothing new in the house...it was a time machine.
Of course I day dream that it is somehow a version associated with hans wegner/johannes hansen affiliation as triumphantly introduced at the cabinetmakers guild 1949 referenced below...that famous table or one exactly the same sold at wright for $20,000 a couple of years ago...the legs are different from mine but referential and the marks on my table for johannes hansen as shown are the thread I cling to...a daydream for sure! That is a johannes hansen mark on the sticker shown on my table right?
I cannot get the link to open anymore it says too many redirects but below is the verbiage for the wright auction page and the pic they showed on the listing of the catalog from the 1949 exhibition I believe.

Time to dream another dream
H. Moon, thanks for setting me straight...I love the organic sleek quirky look of the table regardless and LOVE getting info on my pieces...I was way off on the mark as johannes hansen but see the inspiration of the wegner table in this piece and appreciate that derivative as well.
Was Sigh the mobilfabrik and designer? I notice vodder designed some of their pieces attributed online...were there others or do you think this is a Sigh designed and manufactured piece? Do you have a sense of dates at all?
Thanks to all for the conversation !
Oskar, just to make it clear--
I am talking about a different chair design than yours. The only link was that the two sets I had were the identical except that one was D-Scan/Singapore and the other was Uldum/Denmark.
The designer whose name I couldn't remember is Benny Linden but I don't think he designed any of the chairs we're talking about here. He was Danish and his furniture designs were produced in Thailand and maybe Singapore.
