hello,
Next summer we are going to Michigan, New Zealand and Chicago. Can anyone suggest things to visit in the surroundings, I mean related with Eames or HM? Like special houses or mid-century buildings ?whatever?
Except for the Farnsworth House and the Frank Lloyd houses/buildings I know nothing, so suggestions are welcome.
Thanks!

New Zealand?
do you mean Zeeland? If so you need to see the Charles Eames house designed for Max DePree and also go see the furniture display at the Grand Rapids Public Museum. Also tour the FLW Meyer May House in GR

Grand Rapids Public Museum...
Grand Rapids Public Museum has an amazing modern furniture collection, well worth a visit. Lots of other great attractions there as well.

If you're into Art
If you're into Art and Nature, Frederik Meijer Gardens & Sculpture Park is a must see. They have a world class sculpture collection and an enormous indoor tropical conservatory. It's in Grand Rapids as well...along with the Meyer May House and the Grand Rapids Public Museum as mentioned above. The Grand Rapids Art Museum (GRAM) also has a display of Modern furniture, all the way down to the Eames leg splint hanging on the wall.

atlantideThe Henry Ford...

The Henry Ford Museum and Greenfield Village in Dearborn is wonderful. The Cranbrook Educational Community in Bloomfield Hills is a 30 minute ride. Caesars Windsor Hotel and Casino is across the Detroit River.
I am prejudice, I love Chicago. Anish Kapoor's Cloud Gate at Millennium Park, Garrett Popcorn, Willis Tower, Quartino Ristorante & Wine Bar "Where wine is cheaper than water", Luminaire Chicago*, Rock'n' Roll McDonalds (authentic Knoll, Herman Miller, Flos and others for seating etc. on the second floor), the "free" Tiffany Studio ceilings at Macy's (Marshall Field). The list is endless.
*The best edited three floors of modern design (Moss in SoHo was their equal).
I wish you safe travels and fun regardless of the destination.

Chicago
The Wright Oak Park tour is one of my favorite memories; Wright's Robie House is smack in the middle of the University of Chicago. Mies van der Rohe was at the Illinois Institute of Technology, and the campus is a Mies showplace
I wanted to wish you a great trip.
