I recently found this table top, attached to a non-descript cast aluminum base.......it's 42" in diameter, with a knife edge. It has a portion of its original Knoll Park Avenue sticker (dated 1971) still intact, and it appears, by the imprint left on the underside, to have been attached to a white tulip base. To my untrained eye, it would appear that this is a rosewood veneer top........can someone help me out by confirming that it's rosewood? In my research thus far, everything lines up for this to be a legit Saarinen tulip top.......but I haven't seen any examples on the internet of the 42" round top in rosewood. Would this be brazilian rosewood? The top is in very nice condition, other than being a little dry.......I'm just hoping for some confirmation before deciding what to do with it. Thanks.

I would be very happy to buy your 42" Saarinen rosewood table top. I have a 48" Saarinen table with a black base and walnut top. I have recently moved to a new apartment, and the 48" top is too big. I found your query on this site after hours of searching for a 42" top -- new or used -- and my heart leapt up!
I guess I have to add that that I would be happy to buy your top if you are in the U.S!
