There was a factory based here (Courtrai/Belgium), DE COENE, wich were producer for Knoll. I know they made the saarinen chairs with the laminated legs, they had a lot of knowledge when it came to plywood, laminated wood etc.
They also used a lot of sippo and mahogany, specially veneers, wich were used for executive desks, full interiors and interior doors.
Could these be identified as these saarinen legs? Leftovers maybe or a request for a client?
I came across this coffeetable from the fifties. The top is pretty generic, personalised later on it seems with a golden band around and a glossy poly varnish on top.
I think the top is veneered with sippo or some kind of mahogany. Legs themselves seem to be teak, laminated.
Would these tablelegs have been seperately available in the fifties, to make your own furniture?
Have you seen these legs before (they run down forming a trapezeum at the end)?
