Here's what I know about it:

1. It has wool fabric. I was told this is the original upholstery. It also comes with 2 removable armrest covers.

2. It has 4 removable steel legs. They are attached to the base with screws.

3. I cannot remove the cushions. The seem affixed to the sofa.

4. The bottom is refinished with a light fabric over the frame. The woman who sold it to me told me she had the "innards" redone a few years ago a furniture service store. So if there was a tag on the bottom, it's long gone.

5. It is 51" from armrest to armrest and 31" from the floor to the top of the sofa.

If anyone can provide me with any information about this it would be a tremendous help. Some things I'm wondering are, would a true Knoll sofa comes with armrest covers? Where would the branding be? What it's named? And who was the designer?

It's hard to tell. COuld be Steelcase, which is what I have. Maybe someone here has a Knoll sofa and could compare the leg welding and attachment from your underside photos. My Steelcase has a different base; the one that is chrome around the whole circumference.
I can say I have never seen one like this. Knoll usually has two or more separated seat areas, and more often tufting.
