I was passing through town today and I found my dream chair, I have seen this on 1st dibs and ebay
but always more than i want to spend but to day i yielded to temptation and bought the chair. I love it . It was made in 1968 and has the knoll stickers, i really think that these chairs are rather rare, but looks nice with all my other chairs

Great looking chair!
It looks almost like new! Is it more comfortable than the barcelona?
(Actually it's called "Tugendhat", named after the couple whose villa Mies designed it for in 1928)

it has a different feel ...
it has a different feel to it more upright, than the low back Barcelona chair.
I like it cause it is so unusual and i have only seen the chair on 1st dibs.

Sounds good, I think the barcelona's back is too low to be really comfortable.
I haven't seen one myself either, just on photos from the Tugendhat house. Congratulations on finding such a rarity.

Must be nice
Must be nice to be that family. Can you imagine Mies designing not just a house, but all of the furniture in it, for YOU...
Closest modern day example would be Ghery doing a home.

the idea is fascinating,
the idea is fascinating, just as the history of the house.
Happy about the "perfect match between architect and client" the Tugendhats had to leave it behind after only 8 years in 1938 to escape the nazis. After ww2 and all the years of communism (in which the house served as a stable and more) the Tugendhat children tried to reclaim the house from Czechoslovakia in 2007 because they are worried about its condition.
story still unfinished...

i read about the family on line and it truly is a sad story they only lived there for such a short time before they fled Nazi occupation, it truly was one of Mies great homes, to think that he designed two great chairs , The Bruno and the Tuggenut chair for that house.

I believe Modernism mag recently did an article on the house. The history of the house is a sad story...hopefully that will change.
The chairs are nice...for comfort, personally prefer them over the Barcelona.
