... We took the time to check if our website could support such a database, (forum threads and pictures). We will import the old data (posts and photos related to the forum) gradually, by the end of the month. We sincerely hope, that you will find the information you need .... 

Hi Julie, three days left until the end of march and I don't really see anything happen. Could you please give another update on what we can expect with regard to old threads, pictures and the vast amount of knowledge, that was buried in the forum and that now appears to be inaccessible or even lost?

We're now 8 days into the new month and still no progress on restoring the threads in question.  So disheartening.

I'm not surprised you are disheartened. All of your amazing, informative and kind hearted threads...invisible...gone. I am also feeling despondent about the lack of progress . I will however, continue to help members find ID's or information where possible. I enjoy a good internet search and the satifaction of information gained and imparted.

I've had contact with Julie about a week ago. She wrote me that they will transfer all threads up until 2008 to the new forum. She also wrote that this was going to happen about a week ago. But it didn't, obviously. I don't know why. I'm still positive and I will continue to come back, either way. And I hope, some of you will stay, too, either way. The forum is what it is because of what had been done in the past, but also because the people who still come regularly and write stuff. We depend on the DA team to transfer the old threads - but it is still up to us to discuss new topics. That's how I see it.

I fully understand your reactions and we apologize for the delay... Importing all content (pictures, topics and comments) takes longer than expected, but threads until 2008 will be transferred, and we hope that it will be done as soon as possible. I will inform you in the coming days of the progress of the data transfer. Thank you for your patience..

Hmm. I was hoping that with the oldtimer-thread at least some of the oldtimers would return. But they didn't. I dunno. Should we have a reopening party? And invite everybody?  Sunday, 6 p.m? Who brings the crackers?
