designed with the handle wider and longer at the bottom than at the top.
Each mug I use like this feels good at first, but then I keep burning my top knuckles, because the new handle geometry forces my knuckles up against the hot surface of the mug.
Question: what makes designers switch from a traditional handle that works to a design that burns one's knuckles?
