Ohmigod!
The 70's called, they want their conversation pit back.
Although now that you mention it, I hear they are coming back!
What goes around, comes around...

Jesmond Park West
Jesmond park west looks very similiar to my home on the exterior My home was built in 1964 and is over 5000 squ ft, this one looks like the 70's with the pit group
Now for the dumb question .. being from the USA and have been only to London 6 times and never leaving the core of the City, The Dorchester hotel the Ritz and Inn on the Park are the three hotels that
i have stayed at while in the great city , were does one go to see a home like that or a subdivison. We here in in America with the exception of the Big City NYC, all live in the Suburbs and the suburbs they are far out of the core district, Is that home around 3 million US dollars

That
That particular house is about 1 million US dollars
Modern homes are scattered throughout the country, no specific areas

Timeline disconnect
Having intimate, personal knowledge of life in both the 60's and the 70's, a lot of what gets credited to the "swingin 70's" actually dates to the mid to late 60's but nobody wants to be remembers with the 60's, kennedy, vietnam, nixon/watergate. The 60's was not a good decade in the US. How were the 60's to great britain? Anyone?

Ah
I hadn't realised the US house was priced in GBP...
I was, of course, referring to the house in the UK I had taken a fancy to..

I understand that we are created in Gods own image...
...In which case, if God lives there, I suspect he would answer the door in a polyester leisure suit ( did Britain "experience"the leisure suit like those of us in the U.S.?)
Seriously, The house has extremely good modernist bones. I would guess the renovation would be easy and relatively inexpensive. I say get thee out the check book and commit!

good question ........ we d...
good question ........ we did love our leisure
suits, but we could never get to close to a hot stove or open fire for fear we would burn up,
The 70's was just one ugly period for fashion and fabrics but you can not knock the furniture it is coming back bigger and better Milo Baughman, Kagan, Harvey Probber. Warren Planter, Verner Panton just to name a few with all the burl wood chrome and Lucite is a big hit all over again with great fabric, It just goes to show you if you design good furniture modern or classic it will stand the test of time even thoe the fabrics were out in space,
