I tried to put it in a different thread, but should probably just make my own. Picked this up this weekend. It's really beautiful and everything, but I can't find any markings on it. I haven't inspected terribly close, as I had to dump it in a garage until Monday, but I took this picture before I did. Any ideas? I can't find anything with legs like this online.
It certainly looks danish or...
It certainly looks danish or at least scandinavian produced. The legs show a certain American shaker influence. I most often think of that in conjunction with Børge Mogensen, FDB Møbelfabrik, and various other designers who designed for FDB, like Jørgen Bækmark. Also Fredericia furniture comes to mind.
Basically there is a part of Danish Modern design that shows this shaker influence.
Here is a Mogensen table with the same sort of trestle legs:
It is Danish.
I have had a desk and cabinet with the same drawer pulls in the past. They have never been marked so I would tend to describe them as generic. The quality is good though.
There is a desk with the same drawers (double pedestal, conventional legs) that has somehow ended up with an Arne Vodder attribution, it's even made it onto the Furniture Index.
I Recently Bought a Teak Desk
I recently bought a teak desk and after lots of research I ended up buying a bottle of Scan Care teak oil. I don't know if the desk had ever been oiled but after only one application the desk looks much better. The front edge of the top of the desk was a different color because of arms leaning on the desk for 50 years. After I applied the oil the top is all the same color again.
