OH! MY! GOD!...and I use that term in the broadest sense! I was blown away by this comprehensive assessment of such a huge subject. I have always told my students that it is very important to understand the past in order to design for today. They groan, then slowly realize that the past gives them a rudder and direction to their own thoughts. I teach very young students with brains not quite ready to wrap around the complexities of design and art principles, but I find this subject one of the best ways to bring the understanding of art and thinking like an artist into their lives. Your discussion of design and redesign is so very well developed and I absolutely agree in the synthesis of both. And, why not?...no man is an island. What would we be, if not for the past?
Thank you! Mrs. Sharyn Bieber

And the statement
"If we do not learn from History, we are destined to re-live it" may be the one time (relative to Design) where the somewhat negative interpretation of that statement does not apply.

Sharon...
Are you referring to a particular thread? If so, which one?
