Hi guys (and Olove). I have original series 7 chairs with the black rubber/plastic/whatever/ feet in good condition.
Problem is, they scratch the hell out of my beautiful blackbut hardwood floors. Does anybody know of any retro fit you can pop on the end of the legs to rectify this?

These are a little more discreet
-- thinner, and clear.
I'm wondering why the feet are scratching, though-- isn't the part that's touching the floor smooth plastic?

Strange indeed...

Perhaps you could clean the floor more often?
Hardware store should have a number of remedies to choose from.

at wits end
woof woof, I clean the floor all the time. I'm a rich handsome man with a high IQ, don;t you think I'd have thought of that?
And all those dinky pads that adhere to the feet...useless. They simply fall off after a few minutes.

hi stephen
I have a poor daughter who needs a rich .....
no seriously. The 7 chairs sometime have just a thin black foot which is pushed into the bottom of the leg. it is only 1/16th inch thick.
if this is the case for yours then you need to pull those out or drill them out. sometimes they are very hard to get out.
Contact your local FH dealer and order new protective feet which push into the bottom of the leg but which cup ½inch up the bottom of the leg. these are slightly dome shaped and may cure the problem.
If you have the perfect domed feet already and still the problem you could try soft rubber caps used on walking sticks.
Might be a bit difficult getting the right size though.

Velcro pads
I've got the Ant chairs, which presumably have the same feet, and wooden floors. I've used the small (coin sized) stick on velcro pads - obviously the soft part of the velcro, not the hooks - and these mostly stay on until they wear down enough to need replaced.
However I did find some small felt pads in John Lewis that seem a bit more long lasting. Unfortunately all of these stick-on type pads need to be replaced every few weeks, but they don't compromise the look of the chairs and are certainly better than nothing.
Hope this helps
