OK...so I had total destruction happen to a pristine George Nelson (for Howard Miller) chain-driven, chime clock by the wrath of Hurricane Katrina in New Orleans, when I lost my home and business. Ever since then, I have been desperately trying to obtain another clock (at this point, in any condition)and have had no luck anywhere. First of all, the Howard Miller Clock Company could not even identify the rare bird, and as of this morning, I was told by a clock specialist at their company that the clock, indeed, was designed by George Nelson and has not been in production for some 30 or 40 years. The thing is this, I am trying to either get a destroyed clock in total working order, or buy another one that is repairable. This clock means a lot to me, as it was the last thing I looked at before closing the door behind me upon evacuation. It was given as a gift after I totally remodeled the house that was destroyed by the storm, and I would like to have it again in my new home, to mark a turning point in my life. The problem is, no one seems to know anything about it. PLEASE TAKE A LOOK AT THE PHOTO IN THE LINK BELOW AND HELP ME IDENTIFY THIS CLOCK! Oh, and if you know anyone owning one that wishes to sell, in any condition, I am seriously in the market to buy -paying top dollar. THANKS!

i'm traveling at the moment for work...
I just saw one this morning in a shop.
Mint condition but perhaps top dollar.
(I had left my glasses in the car)
I nearly dropped to my knees in front of it. 🙂
I'll stop back by and snap a pic...
It is just 5 minutes away. And i'll get their business
card for you.
The mint Warren Platner chairs and table in the front window
caught my eye.
I've been working 24/7 but have the weekend off.!
Not a Nelson
I'm obviously very sorry for your loss, but I wanted to clarify that this is not a Nelson clock. It was designed for Howard Miller by another designer. The confusion often comes in because some of the clocks designed by others used Nelson clock hands. The one you linked to is one of those. You should nevertheless take heart in that these clocks do regularly appear on ebay under "Howard Miller clock" and/or "George Nelson" searches.
Hmmm....if his is not a George Nelson Clock, omeone needs to tell Howard Miller
Well....now I am totally confused, as I have always been told that this was a George Nelson clock, most recently, even by the Howard Miller Clock company. When I received the clock in New Orleans, it came in the original Howard Miller box and had paperwork attributing it to George Nelson, so now am stumped. I was told by one appraiser that it was a model called the "Bellini" model created by Nelson, but I have never been able to verify that claim. I have been trying to look through old Howard Miller catalogs to verify further and have not seen it so far, but I am still searching, as I do not have all the years of catalogs for which Nelson's work was contracted to Howard Miller. Could it be that it was not created by Nelson himself, but rather it was created by one of the associates working for him? Can you please clarify for me why you believe this is not a George Nelson design and whose design this may be, as this would certainly help expedite my search? Also, I have been checking e-bay and other auction sites on a routine basis and have not come across this clock, but I will keep checking. Thanks, and I look forward to hearing from you.
Your clock is currently for sale...
The clock you're looking for is currently available at Red Modern Furniture, a very good, knowledgeable dealer in Phoenix where I've purchased several items. The link is below. I hope you get it. Btw, not to belabor the point, but he too does not attribute the clock to Mr. Nelson.
