I'm thinking of buying an old chair, the sling is a bit rough and will probably only buy it if I can replace it sometime by getting a copy sewn up in fabric or leather. I've heard its a very difficult job actually getting it onto the frame, is this true?

Apparantly it is, search first eh? Maybe I'll buy a new one, not much more expensive anyway, cmon tax return!

Meh
Hey Heath,
I bought one of these guys and had it professionally re-upholstered...even then it was a meh job. (in fairness I am a perfectionist)
The issue w/ mine were that they couldn't get the leather to tightly wrap the end rolls. Instead of a clean wrap mine sorta sags in the front and the back.

Thanks, I'm a bit dubious about buying one now, I find it more comfortable than the 670 and a better design overall but if its a dog to refurbish....maybe I'll get a Mathson Jetson chair, am in a rare spending money mood.
Have you tried spraying the underside of the sling with water and drying it with a hair dryer to tighten it up?
